Our Services

CRISIS CHILDCARE

As a  crisis nursery, we strive to meet families where they are, without judgement. To utilize our services does not mean that your child is currently being abused or is about to be abused. It does not mean that your child's basic needs are not being met. To have a crisis means to be facing a difficult situation. There are times when caregivers need a break, time to address a situation, or attend an appointment. This is where the crisis nursery comes in. We offer a safe, loving place for your child to stay while you address whatever needs you may have.

Common reasons for care include, but are not limited to:
  • Stress breaks

  • Domestic violence

  • Home crisis

  • Substance treatment

  • Mental health needs

  • Court or medical appointments

If your situation is not listed above, please call for more information.  Mini O'Beirne has no income or residency requirements. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

What is required?

  • Children must be aged from birth to six years old

  • Documentation for the child and proof of guardianship (Such as a birth certificate)

  • Photo identification for the guardian

  • Emergency contacts

  • Any special dietary needs (The Nursery provides all needed items, including meals, clothing, diapers, and toys!)

  • Access to the guardian by phone at all times

  • Drop off and pick up time

FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES

As caregivers, sometimes we just need to feel like we have a person in our corner. That's where the Family Support Program comes in. Our specialists work with families to establish goals so that they can be their best. This includes linking you to community services, providing in-home sessions, and offering guidance and education in identified areas of need. Enrollment in Family Support services is not required for crisis childcare but is highly recommended.

The Family Support Program conducts parenting education classes using the Nurturing Families Program on a weekly basis. Monthly activity nights and groups are held as are special events and holiday parties.

All services are free of charge.

BASIC NEEDS PANTRY

Times are tough and we get it! The Basic Needs Pantry is here to help families to fill the gap. Diapers, wipes, formula and other child related items are available free of charge, when in stock. Individuals are asked to come to the side door of the Nursery, ring the bell, and request the items needed. We do ask that you bring an ID for verification. Items are given out once per month per individual/family. We ask that this guideline be respected so that we may help as many families as possible. Pantry hours are 8am-dark, 7 days a week. You are welcome to call in advance to find out if items are available. Please note that there may be times that staff is busy and may not be able to assist you immediately but will do their best to get to you.

Items stocked in the Basic Needs Pantry are received either through special grant funding or in-kind donations from fellow community members.
